Triton Two Tower Overview

The sleek 48” tall Triton Two (left) is a high-performance loudspeaker with a built-in powered subwoofer. The Triton Two Tower is engineered for superb performance in both high quality two channel stereo systems as well as in multi-channel home theater and music systems. The sleek, elegantly curved and tapered design is not only gorgeous but is important from a performance perspective as well.

The subwoofer section is powered by a 1200 watt GoldenEar designed ForceField Digital Amplifier. The amplifier’s DSP design not only yields extremely linear and low distortion response, but also dynamically controls operating parameters for optimum performance. The amp drives two 5”x 9” front-mounted quadratic subwoofer bass drivers which are coupled to dual side-mounted 7”x10” quadratic planar infrasonic bass radiators. The result is awe-inspiring bass, which delivers both musical subtlety as well as room-shaking authority.

There are two cast-basket upper bass/midrange drivers, which incorporate GoldenEar’s proprietary Multi-Vaned Phase Plug (MVPP™) as well as a computer optimized cone design. They are arranged in a D’Appolito array surrounding the tweeter, an extraordinary new High-Velocity Folded Ribbon (HVFR™) design. The HVFR tweeter propagates sound waves and moves the air by squeezing it with its accordion-like pleated diaphragm, rather thanpushing it as conventional drivers do. With its sleek, narrow 5.25” wide baffle, the Triton Two’s sophisticated look not only blends with any décor, but also helps the speaker create truly magnificent 3D imaging with tremendous depth, height and width that extends well beyond the loudspeakers themselves.

The Triton Two Tower is finished with an elegant black designer cloth and piano-black base.

Triton Three Tower Overview

Triton Three Loudspeaker Pair Cutaway

GoldenEar’s Triton Two Tower clearly set the audio world on its proverbial ear with extraordinary sound quality, elegant styling and previously unimaginable value. It has earned an incredible series of rave reviews and industry accolades from around the world — including more than a few Speaker and Audio Product of the Year honors and awards. Now we are adding a spectacular followup, the Triton Three, which incorporates the same advanced technologies and delivers state-of- the-art performance remarkably similar to its big brother.

The Triton Three is literally a smaller version of the award-winning Triton Two. It is the perfect solution for listeners looking for a more compact loudspeaker that offers equally superb performance for both high-quality two-channel systems as well as in multi-channel home theater and music systems when paired with our perfectly-matched SuperSat 3 and SuperSat 50C. Its sleek, elegantly curved and tapered design mirrors the award winning styling of the Triton Two with its beautiful marriage of piano-gloss black and designer-fabric-covered surfaces.

Like the Two, the Triton Three incorporates the built-in powered subwoofer technology first pioneered by GoldenEar principals Sandy Gross and Don Givogue. In this case, there is an integral 800-watt digital/DSP controlled power amp driving an active front-mounted long-throw 5" x 9" quadratic subwoofer driver. This is coupled to two opposing, inertially balanced 6.75" x 8" quadratic planar infrasonic passive radiators which are located on the sides, near the floor, in order to take full advantage of boundary coupling. There is one of the same 4.5" high-definition cast basket MVPP™ drivers as used in the Two, along with the same GoldenEar signature High Velocity Folded Ribbon (HVFR™) tweeter.

Performance-wise, the Triton Three delivers the same boxless three-dimensional imaging as the Triton Two, which reviewers have hailed as “mystical”, “magical” — and, best summed up by the dramatic, “had us believing that the entire surface of the front wall was covered with speakers.” Likewise, the powerful, deep subwoofer bass blends perfectly with the silky smooth, utterly transparent midrange and high frequencies, putting many dramatically more expensive speakers to shame.
