Amp went out a while ago. Flashing green light. No Sound. Posted here and the moderator suggested I talk to my vendor to get a replacement despite being out of warranty. Great service.

They ordered a replacement unit and swapped it out.

Upon getting it home hooked the sub up and got a weird intermittent problem. Sometimes the sub would start up when I turned on my system like usual. Some times it would take a few (30 or so) seconds to power up after the head unit sent the signal. Then it would vary. Sometimes not start up at all, sometimes take up to 15 min to turn on.

Contacted my vendor and they were again very happy to order another replacement amp.

Stopped by yesterday to get it swapped out and again only took a few min.

Took unit home and plugged it all up.

New Issue:

When I plug in the Coax Cable my normally tight fitting cable was loose and I was getting a lot of buzzing. I can move the cable around and get the buzzing to stop but no input from my NAD Head Unit. Was working just fine an hour ago with the older unit (when it would start up) so I am pretty sure it is the new amp board.

Le Sigh....

Any advice, this is getting ....kinda old.

Do I just need to purchase a new sub?

My downstairs FF 4 unit on my surround system is going strong with no problems and I can bring it upstairs and plug it in and works fine upstairs as well on the affected system.

Moderator Dude.....any advice or input?

Sorry, not sure I have clarity, is the problem just that the cable does not fit tight? Can you squeeze the shield in on the cable's plug to make a tighter fit?

The sub should be "as new" when the amp board is replaced, no reason to do anything other than get a working replacement amp board, if that is the issue here.

The cable is tight on my FF4 I tested with and every other rebuild on my older FF3. So not sure I want to "compress" the known good cable to accommodate what I think is a defective female pinout on the board. And when held firmly it stops making hum, but still does not get any subwoofer signal from the head unit no matter what i do.

I am hoping it is just a comedy of bad boards.....and not something else with the sub.

Apparently I am not clear on the problem. No matter, just ask your dealer for warranty service. Nothing else to talk about here.

Ok, the issue was my coax cable. All the changing out of my other subs and testing I somehow bent the end of the cable. Bought a new cable and I am back in business. Sorry for the confusion....all my bad. :)
