Hey Calvin and Toby,
I love my SC X. But IF I could have one, I would prefer to have a XL or heck, IF I could afford it AND had room, the SC XXL.
And I agree with Toby, I want my vocals coming from the front L, C, R speakers, preferably often from the Center. So I cross my SC X over at 80 Hz. And let the subwoofer (FF%) do its thing from there down.
BUT I don't think this puts much vocal to the sub. 80Hz is a Clear E2, actually crossed over there, the center can still play useful, meaningful info down almost to C2. You are one HECK of a bass singer IF you can sing C2 and anybody can hear it!!!!! [Guinness lists the lowest note called for on any music program for a bass to sing at D2, which is 73 Hz according to Wikipedia.
Check out the notes, corresponding with the piano keys, and the frequencies here:
www.sengpielaudio.com/calculator-notenames.htm
All that to say, I think you would love the SC XL.
Enjoy the tunes brothers,
God Bless, Wayne

Thanks, Wayne. I'll check that site out. With my system, I notice a bit of bloat in the vocals with my center channel set above 70 Hz and it sounds even better at 60 Hz. I think that has more to do with my electronics. My Integra is a bit on the warm side. I know vocal frequencies are typically maxed out at the low end around 80 but I swear my Integra does some weird processing. I had mentioned before that Judy Dench in Skyfall was coming through on my sub and she is no bass.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Toby,
Dame Dench is a LOT of things, WONDERFUL actress, but you are right, she is NO BASS.
And she should not be coming through on your sub. Something is set wrong.
Hope you get it sorted out, all the best,
God Bless,
Wayne

I'm all sorted out now. I have my SCXL set at 60 Hz and the T1s integrate the bass very well. Getting rid of the external sub and setting my center frequency lower cleaned things up. Makes me want the SCXXL even more, though.

I'm curious in a real world scenario where the XXL would really make a big difference. The 33hz vs 36hz extension is a half step in musical notes C# vs. D. That's nothing. The XXL lists higher power handling which I believe, since it has two extra drivers. But it almost feels like a statement speaker to go with the Triton 1s. I'm guessing its overkill for everyone else, even Triton 2 owners.

Hey Imahawki,
I only have the SC-X and I feel like I have a great sound. IF I had the room and the money, sure I would go for the XL or XXL. But I don't and I am happy with what I have, the T 2s fill in the lower register quite nicely thank you!!!!
Happy Listening,
God Bless, Wayne
