OK, you guys have convinced me to make that small investment and give roasting and grinding my own beans a go.
I can get local beans, and a I ordered some from Amazon as well. Probably will have some questions about roasting, later. One crack or two sorta thing.
But first I gotta order and get that grinder.
Thanks for the encouragement and support,
God Bless, Wayne

Wayne,

Give this free kindle book a try first and see if it gives you what you need to get started. Feel free to shoot me any PMs. I've roasted several pounds at home and have a basic process down. Right now I'm waiting for a cold snap to kill off some mosquitoes before I start roasting again. We've had so much rain this Summer that we have a ridiculous number of blood suckers lurking around our home. I imagine there are worse issues on your end.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Yes T. Cobe,
we have had WAY more than our fair share of rain too.
And we have WAY more skeeters than I care to be around too.
I saw that some roast their beans on a side burner on the BBQ. I don't have a side burner, would have to use the reg. burner. But I reckon I can get it done. I will read that suggested information now.
Thanks for that.
God Bless,
Wayne

Wayne,

My Dad uses a propane grill, so it will work with minimal investment to start. If you find you enjoy the process, a turkey fryer works better. I have a few burners like the attached in an all grain home brewing rig I made. These burners work excellent!

OK T. Cobe,
There are a LOT of those kinds of things over here; a little later on and I will try to get it organized if I like my results.

Hi T. Cobe,
I hit a snag. I saw that Amazon (my good buddies for many years) want me to sign up for kindle and then I can read that book, then I could cancel so they will not charge me every month. I don't like to do things like that. So I saw they let you install a kindle app. I got it and was ready to put it on my phone/tab, but when I read the permissions it wants, Hell's Bells, it wants to be able to see all my contacts, all my info, EVERYTHING on my tab. No way I am gonna give permissions like that to anybody.
So I think I will forget that little book and just follow instructions I find online. And I will PM you if I have further questions. IF that is OK? It will be some time before I get a grinder and beans, then I can find something around here to cook beans with. I did read that whatever you roast beans in, it should be kept just for that; that it sorta messes up whatever pan or container you use. Is that right?
I am open to any and all suggestions.
God Bless,
Wayne
