Tsgt2007,

Unless you're doing it strictly for aesthetics, this would be an upgrade I would put off until I had my source components, amplifiers, and analog audio cables purchased. This is a controversial upgrade and is least likely to impact you sound versus the other items I've listed, IMHO. Granted, we are talking about a few hundred dollars versus thousands for a new amp; however, I think decent speaker wire would be on my list before power cable. As would good RCAs, XLRs, LFE, etc.

I also think you need to make sure your electrical wiring supports the logic of an upgrade. I have dedicated 20 amp outlets run to each Triton with 12-guage wire. I can see upgrading to a good 12 gauge cable. If I had an outlet that was tied in with other outlets, had 14-guage wire, and was only 15 amp I don't think it would make much sense. You can't ignore what is in the walls between the outlet and your electrical panel. 3 feet of 10 gauge cable can't make up for 100 ft of 14-gauge cable tied into a circuit with other devices that create interference. Make sense?

Cheers,

T Cobe

T COBE,
I totally understand and it makes perfect sense. You have an awesome set up... I do have some upgrades in speaker wires and HDMI cables from Audioquest and I do see and hear the difference. I was looking too see if I could hear the difference in sound for the better of course, by replacing the power cables. In my mind it has be a total upgrade from the power cable that came with the speakers.Thank you for advice I highly appreciate it. This is definitely a learning experience!

Thanks, Tsgt2007. I've been extremely happy with my new GET products. Are you still using the Panasonic Blu-Ray player or have you picked up that Marantz or Oppo you were considering?

Cheers,

T Cobe

Your welcome T Cobe ! I still have the Panasonic and I will wait for the 4K Blu ray players to come around. See how that pans out.

After doing some research and tweaking,I upgraded my T-3's power cables with a Audioquest NRG 4's and I also bought a Panamax M5300-PM Power line conditioner and surge protector that replaced my old Monster. I also adjusted my EQ and set it to flat. The bass is definitely much tighter, cleaner and the speakers sounded even better than before. I was blown away! What's nice about the Panamax M5399-PM I was able to change the power cord and I am using the Audioquest NRG 2. When I read the reviews on the Panamax about the improved sound and picture I wanted to try it and I have to say I am very impressed and a believer!
