Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the technical data. I an aware of the variation in bass response as I move around the room - especially the dead spots where cancellations occur. Unfortunately, I do not have much flexibility in the placement of my PLP. I have dialed my Ones back to about 1:00 PM (slightly past 12:00). I think the bass response is slightly improved from a musical standpoint.

I have also changed the configuration of my Sevens and SuperSats. The Sevens are now connected as Surrounds and the SuperSats as Surround Backs. I am running my CXR120 to a volume level to provide what I consider to be balanced sound from the rear of the room. Very little bass emanates from either the Sevens or the SuperSats, so I doubt they have any appreciable effect upon the overall bass response in the room.

I am quite content with the bass response from the Ones when I listen to music at my version of "room volume". I always have the two external subs waiting when I need bass augmentation at low volume listening.

Please remember that the vast majority of my listening is to either classical instrumental or classical choral music - where pronounced bass is not a major concern.

Happy listening,

Art

Hi Wayne
My Yamaha does all the processing for movies like for dts etc. The Yamaha's does the processing and tthen sends that signal to the deqx for room and speaker correction. You use it with reciever not instead of reciever.

Think of it as a dedicated preamp for music that has got bypass capabilities but instead of purely bypassing it it even corrects the timing of the speakers for movies. It really is a cool tool.

Yeah, but, Steveo
From what I read, and I thought it was supposed to replace your pre-processor not be in addition to it, but whatever, you can only send the front LR from your Yamaha to it when you watch a movie, right? or all 6/8 channels?
How can it do room correction IF it is only doing 2 channels plus the sub?

God Bless,
Wayne

I'm lucky to have a lot of freedom to move my listening position forwards and backwards, but the math analysis really helped me dial it in.

Ditto on classical, but I do love the bass that comes out of the lowest strings on a Steinway D. It's always fun to hear that!

Good listening to you to, Art.

Hi Charlie, Wayne, Rick and everybody,

Charlie, now that you mention enjoying hearing the low strings on a Steinway, here is a tidbit that might interest you and others.

As you all probably know, I live in Johnson City, TN. Johnson City is in the NE corner of Tennessee. About 5 miles East of Johnson City is the town of Elizabethton, TN. In the town of Elizabethton is a relatively small local company named Mapes.

Mapes is internationally known for its manufacture of piano strings.

For many years, Mapes has made the strings which grace every Steinway.

Small world.

Happy listening, indeed.

And in the little TN town of Lynchburg they make Jack Daniels Tennessee Sippin' Whiskey.
Tennessee is a mighty fine state. Nashville is all about music.
Seriously, Bro Art, Johnson City, TN is where they make my favorite ciems, EarTech Music.
And Emotiva is right there in Franklin, TN.
Coincidence, I think not, Elvis put Memphis on the map!!!! (though he was born in Tupelo, MS)
God bless,
Wayne
