Thanks, Wayne. No pain at this time. Treatments are not likely to cause pain - just some level of tiredness and general upset.

This is a misleading and completely incorrect statement. The correct statement is that at low volume YOU cannot hear the bass the speaker is playing. This is a combination of two things - first, you are a human being and that's the way our hearing works. Second, and not for sure but likely, you have lost some low level, low frequency hearing sensitivity as this all seems to be much more of an issue for you.

For those reading these posts, the Triton Ones do not play any less bass at low volumes than at higher volumes. If anything, the exact opposite is true (at the highest volumes the bass extension decreases, just like all speakers).

Hello Mr. Moderator, et al.,

I apologize for the unfortunate choice of words with "do not exhibit much bass". At least, I did not say that the Triton Ones are not capable of providing bass at low volumes. It would have been better if I had said that I cannot hear quite as much bass as I would like at low volumes.

Mr. Moderator - I also agree with the balance of your comments. Sensitivity to bass signals rolls off for everyone at lower volumes and, at 76.5 years of age, I may have even lost a bit more sensitivity to bass signals - certainly I do not have the same high-end sensitivity as I once had. However, I can still hear well enough to enjoy music played at much less than ear-shattering volume. Therefore, I am interested in being able to use my technical knowledge to find the best combination of connections to provide the most enjoyable musical experience.

My comments in that post, as in all of my posts, are intended to help other folks achieve a satisfactory result with their gear and to provide some of what I have learned with all of my audio setup experiments. They most certainly are not intended to slight the performance of GE speakers. If I were not totally pleased with my Triton Ones and my other GE speakers, I would not be a participant on this forum.

In future posts, I shall endeavor to be more precise in my choice of words when describing my experiments and experiences.

Regards to all,

Art
