Bro Rick,
If I ever get to come to your house and listen to music on your system, I won't have to bring my favorites for checking out a system, you will have them already!!!!!
Hoping you enjoy it my friend!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

I am an idiot!!!
But sometimes a happy, blessed idiot.
I bought this BR on a hunch, it looked good and was well reviewed.
"An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House" by Joe Bonamassa and other fantastic musicians.
I had no idee, but this is one of the BEST sounding (and looking) and MUSICAL blu-ray concerts I have in my collection.
I love Joe on the electric, but who knew? He plays a song on the National Steel, a favorite of mine, and it is just wonderful sounding!!!
The guys behind him, some are playing stuff I don't even recognize, one guy has a autoharp looking thing with LOTS of strings and he is bowing it????
Percussion stuff, a violin I recognize, even a piano, and accordion, but no banjo Bro Anthem.
Great songs, musicianship off the charts!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
God Bless,
Wayne

Another BR I have been looking forward to:
The Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Simon Rattle, with soloist Sol Gabetta.
I got this one for the Elgar cello Concerto with Ms Gabetta, and it is very good.
But the concert starts with the weird Atmospheres by Ligeti, you know the modern, strange but kinda cool one? And without a break they go straight into Wagner's Prelude to Act 1 of Lohengrin (maybe the most beautiful piece of music ever written in my humble opinion!!!!!) and it is beautifully played. They round things out with Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.
This is the largest group of fantastic musicians I have ever seen from the Berlin Phil.
And, talk about that BIG WARM German sound!!!!!
The PQ is awesome, the SQ is so very well miked and superbly recorded that here comes the problem: A couple of people in the audience coughed WAY TOO MUCH at all the wrong times, at the quietest moments of sublime music and it was distracting. Seriously.
BAD!!!! What a shame!!!!
I would totally recommend this BR, heartily recommend it, except for the coughing!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey, Wayne

I finally got "The Goat Rodeo Sessions". Loved it, watched it twice! Part of what made it special was watching four great musicians having so much fun playing music together. They were in sync on every level. SQ: amazing.

Happy listening!

I don't even know what to call the music genre(s) in this BR. Sometimes so sweet, with Chris Thile just gently teasing a soft melody on the mandolin with Yo-Yo Ma right there also teasing the cello, Edgar Meyer filling in bass, Stuart Duncan adding fiddle, almost dreamy.... Other times so peppy.... Always a sense of perfect coordination. I don't know just what I was expecting, probably more somber, chamber music type stuff. Thoroughly enjoyed what they did and how they did it. Geniuses working together and loving what they do!!
