Old method:

1) Use pencil eraser to clean contact surfaces. (If visibly oxidized, may need to use something more abrasive, or wipe with tarn-x.)

2) Dip q-tip into Cramolin and swab all contact surfaces completely. One dip will do dozens of connectors.

Anything more modern than that is going to have to come from someone else.

I planned on using q-tips, a small bristles brush like a toothbrush, and compressed air. Looks like the D requires application and removal, whereas the Gold is simply applied and left on. I'll try to clean the connections with the q-tips and then ensure any residual fibers are brushed and or blown away.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Q-tips seem to large for RCA Connectors. Would a pipe cleaner be a better solution?

Bro Anthem, for toobs, all I have ever figured out to do is to clean the pins.
Wish I could watch you, might learn something.
Have fun with it, God Bless,

Wayne: how do you clean your pins? I've seen some very interesting methods on YouTube, but can't find these accessories at any parts store/tube sites. Once again, I have forgotten the name of your tube site... Please share.

Would pipe cleaners work well for RCA jacks?

Hey Bro Anthem,
I have used Q tips or the soft corner of a napkin to clean pins on tubes. Just a corner of a napkin soaked in detoxIT for the RCAs, I don't trust the wire that is in the pipe cleaner, where it sticks out the end it could scratch things.
I am no expert.
TC Tubes is where I buy em, from Chelsea or Tyler (great people), at
tctubes.com/

Hope this helps, God Bless,
Wayne
