I am in receipt of the Golden Ear instructions "Triton Reference Grille Removal and Re-Installation Instructions" but have not availed myself of utilizing them.

I'm curious if any T Ref owners have removed the front grill. If so, I'd appreciate if you can describe your experience.

@moderator, is there any "maintenance" type of procedure that should be performed periodically that would require the grill to be removed? For example, might the screws that hold the drivers in place need to be tightened periodically? If you recall, some users of the T1 indicated there were occasional screws that were found to be loose. Are the types of screws that hold the drives in place in the case of the T Ref the same as they are for the T1? Is the assembly manufacturing process of the tightening the driver screws the same, or has there been any noteworthy changes? I suppose I'm just looking for some kind of reassurance that the screws that hold the drivers in place are in fact "tight" (torqued correctly).

Thank you. :)

The screws should be properly tight but if you'd like to check them, remove the grille per instructions and check tightness for all drivers/tweeter. Tight is what you want... over-tightened (possibly causing damage) is not. If you're not hearing anything wrong, then all is fine.

Thank you for the reply @ moderator.

The first part of my inquiry is still open.... I'm curious if any T Ref owners have removed the front grill. If so, I'd appreciate if you can describe your experience.

Thanks.

Can you post a copy of the instructions for the Grille Removal, or are they some sort of State Secret? (jk). I need to remove the grille on one of my used speakers...bottom drivers seem to be dead on one. :-( I was not careful enough at the audition, now I've learned a lesson.

(The risk of buying used equipment on craigslist.)

I wonder..will Goldenear warranty these if they are only two years old?

Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and request the grill removal instructions. Perhaps provide the serial number of the offending speaker and ask if it's covered under warranty. Generally speaking their warranty policy is very generous.
