Reading Stereophile Feb 2019, and surprised to read about Triton One.Rs and SuperCenter References!
Don't see any info on the goldenear website yet, but looking forward to getting more information about the speakers.
Especially might be interesting to replace my SuperCenter XXL with the Refs once I do more research.
Hopefully we get more info, soon!

Yep, we hope to have the upcoming SuperCenter Reference available by the end of this month (January, 2019). MSRP in the USA will be $1499.99 each. It looks just like the SuperCenter XXL but has all-new internals (Reference level drivers, tweeter, wiring, crossover, and voicing).

So, the news is slowly spreading that there is a new SuperCenter Reference speaker coming and hopefully we'll hear more about it and talk about it here (it is now shown as available to purchase on Goldenear's "Shop Online" pages).

I have some questions about it. We have all marveled at how well the XXL pairs up with the Ref's and Ones, with maybe a little issue with XXL headroom with Ref's if really pushed and maybe need to move the XXL crossover to 100 HZ (I haven't run into that, and run the XXL at 80 HZ with my Ref's and the XXL shines... love that speaker!!!). Progress comes, especially fast at Goldenear, and here is all the new Reference related technology and some of that magic is now available as a SuperCenter Reference. I can understand that voicing would get a notch better. Does the SC Reference also provide more headroom/power handling so crossovers can be set lower than with the XXL???? Moderator Dude, sure would love more feedback on what the SQ/SL improvements would be.

Thanks

Rick

Good news, everyone! The SuperCenter Reference will begin shipping to dealers on January 16.

It's the same physical shape, size and styling as the SuperCenter XXL, but the SC-Ref has Reference level drivers, tweeter, crossover and wiring. Its voicing is closer to the T-Ref than we've done before. As far as dynamics and power handling, it is better but the main improvements are in the more T-Ref like natural mids, smooth top end and better defined bass. It's a great sounding center!
