Well just my luck, I got XL only two months ago and now I see there is XXL >.<

I have T5 fronts.

Would XXL be better with T5 ? Or is the XXL 'too much' for just Triton 5's? I mean is it more for the T1 and T2?

I don't want to upgrade the center(xl) to XXL if they aren't a good match.

Thx!

Hi DaveyMac,
How do you like the XL with your T 5s? Any problem with it? I am sure the XXL is wonderful, but there is always something new and improved, always something better. Everyone is soooooo hot on the Triton Ones, but I have to be happy with my T 2s. AND I am happy with them.
IF you can upgrade to the XXL I am sure it would sound great with the T 5s. But I would be willing to bet that the XL sounds great with them too.
Enjoy!!!!!
Happy listening,
God Bless, Wayne

XL is great, no complaints. But the XXL is clearly better performance but not better price. I'd like to get XXL unless it's out of balance with T5. As in too much.

Maybe the mod could say.

DaveyMac,

I believe the SCXXL and the T5 both received the benefit of some trickle down technology from the T1 including the balanced crossovers and maybe a few others. My guess is that they would be a very good match but others here may be able to offer a first hand testimonial.

If you can sell your SCXL and minimize your upgrade cost, it may be a reasonable upgrade. If not, it may not be a good return on investment. As Wayne has illuded to, there will always be a bigger, better, faster... Chasing the latest and greatest can be expensive. I recently had my SCXL hooked up to a monoblock amp (Emotiva XPA-1L) and it made a significant improvement. I was originally planning on only purchasing two of these amps for my towers; however, after hearing the impact on my center channel, I will be purchasing another at some point.

Anyways, just a little food for thought. I don't blame you for wanting to upgrade to the SCXXL. Full disclosure, I will do the same at some point as well. Let us know what you decide and how things sound if you upgrade.

Cheers,

T Cobe

I have the 5's and upgraded my center the xxl but I had the supercenter x. The difference between the x and the xxl was very obvious. T cobe is correct that xxl has technology pioneered by the T1s. To me, my sound stage is very nice and worth it.
Play it loud.

Emotiva UMC-200
Anthem MCA50
Triton 5 L/R
SuperCenter XXL
SuperSat 3 surounds

My 2 cents. I have the T1s and I had the 60c centre channel. I upgraded to the xxl and it was one of the best upgrades I have ever done. The 60c was great but the xxl is in another league. I am hearing things now on shows I have seen heaps of times and the sound is just so immersive.

Take for example the Simpson's. Most of it is centre channel driven and full of dialogue and it is a cartoon of course so not too many action scenes and loud explosions. I am hearing things with this speaker I didn't know were there. Sure explosions and gunfire sound incredible but I will argue that it's the things you are not expecting that make this sound so good. Footsteps, doors shutting everything is just so much more immersive and it really improves the experience when watching movies or even TV shows.

I never tried the xl so I don't know how much of an upgrade it would be but I am sure it is just look at the picture with all the drivers :))

Don't worry about it overpowering your t5s. You have to keep in mind the centre channel is probably the most important channel for home theatre and movies. I don't think you will regret upgrading this. Do what I did and ask the dealer to see if he will let you take home and try it out. I did this and the xxl has never left my house lol.
